Abstract
This research was performed with the goal of the content analysis of elementary school’s experimental sciences textbooks (primary experimental sciences’ textbooks) in terms of the level of attention paid to the nutrition literacy. The statistical population of the research included all elementary school’s experimental sciences in the academic year 2013-2014. With considering the nature of the subject of research and because of the limitation of the statistical population, sampling was ignored and all the statistical population was considered as research sample. In the present research, Shannon entropy analysis was used, and the unit of analysis was composed of text, image, question and activity. The results of the research suggest that of 471 registered units for food groups’ component, the largest number of units, 116 units, were related to bread, cereals and drinking water, while the smallest number of units, 32 units, was related to milk and dairy products. The largest coefficient of importance in experimental sciences subjects for primary level education in the food groups’ component was related to fruits (0.19), while the smallest coefficient of importance was given to milk and dairy products (0.15).
